Gearoid O Leary Computer Services is an established IT solutions provider based in Cork, serving a diverse range of clients across Munster. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Level 2/3 IT Support Engineer to join our expanding team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work across multiple client environments.

About the Role

This role will suit an IT professional with strong technical ability and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will primarily be based in Macroom, Co. Cork, with travel to client sites across the county. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and implementing practical IT solutions that enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2/3 IT support to business clients both on-site and remotely.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 in business environments.
  • Manage Office 365, Outlook, and Exchange configuration and support.
  • Carry out PC and laptop hardware repair, upgrades, and data transfers.
  • Support network infrastructure, including cabling, patching, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Configure and maintain VPN connections for secure remote access.
  • Provide remote support using RDP and TeamViewer.
  • Manage client device replacements and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through responsive, professional communication.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Level 2 IT Support or Field Engineer role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and networking fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with VPN setup, RDP, and remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Full clean driving licence (required for client visits).
  • Valid work authorisation for Ireland (no visa sponsorship available).

Preferred

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.
  • Experience supporting small to medium business environments.
  • Familiarity with backup, security, and endpoint management solutions.
