IT Technician – Systems Support – Sligo

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive IT Technician to support their growing team in Sligo. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance across multiple departments, maintain system availability, and ensure all IT services operate to high standards. You’ll collaborate with internal users and external vendors, assisting in projects that enhance system performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Service Desk to build, configure, and deploy new PCs.
  • Deliver user and technical support both on-site and remotely.
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Manage software updates, user access, and security permissions.
  • Maintain and support AV, networking, and communication systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the ITSM (Service Management) ticketing system.
  • Assist with infrastructure operations, including servers, switches, and routers.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data security standards.
  • Deliver “white glove” support for senior staff and critical business operations.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • A relevant third-level degree in IT, Computing, or a related field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical support, helpdesk, or systems administration.
  • Proficiency in Windows, networking, and server environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Active Directory, or other enterprise tools.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments and remote access solutions (e.g., VPN).
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCSA, or Cisco CCNA are advantageous.
