About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown, Dublin. This Grade VII management position offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team while ensuring our healthcare facility operates at the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage comprehensive maintenance operations across all hospital departments and specialized healthcare equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for critical hospital infrastructure, medical equipment, and facility systems
- Coordinate emergency response for urgent maintenance issues affecting patient care areas and clinical operations
- Manage maintenance budgets and oversee procurement of equipment, supplies, and contractor services
- Ensure regulatory compliance with health and safety standards, including healthcare-specific regulations and environmental requirements
- Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with external contractors for specialized hospital equipment servicing
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams, infection control, and facilities management to minimize disruption to patient care
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Third-level qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years management experience in maintenance operations, preferably in healthcare or complex facilities
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing technical teams in demanding environments
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and maintenance standards for medical facilities
- Budget management experience and procurement expertise for technical services
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare maintenance experience with medical equipment and specialized healthcare systems
- Professional certifications in facilities management or engineering disciplines
- Advanced project management qualifications and experience with large-scale infrastructure projects
- Energy management expertise and experience with sustainable facilities operations
