Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We’re hiring a Medical Scientist to join the Pathology Department in Letterkenny. This permanent whole-time position offers an opportunity to work within a committed and dynamic HSE laboratory team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality laboratory testing and specialist pathology analysis
• Ensure accurate documentation, analysis, and timely reporting of test results
• Maintain compliance with HSE and national laboratory standards
• Participate in quality control, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Requirements

• Qualification as a Medical Scientist recognised by CORU
• Proven laboratory experience in any pathology discipline (haematology, microbiology, biochemistry, histology, cytology, or immunology)
• Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills and a commitment to high standards of patient care and service delivery
• Experience with laboratory information systems is desirable
