HSE South West is recruiting Multi-Task Attendants for Residential Older Persons Services across six community nursing facilities in County Kerry. These permanent positions — available in both full-time and part-time capacities — offer a meaningful opportunity to provide direct care and support to older residents in safe, community-based settings throughout the county.
About the Role
As a Multi-Task Attendant, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary care team delivering high-quality residential care to older persons. The role combines direct personal care, domestic support, and general attendant duties across a community nursing environment. You will contribute to a safe and dignified living experience for residents while supporting nursing and allied health staff in day-to-day care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance to residents in accordance with individual care plans
- Support residents with daily living activities, including mobility, mealtimes, and personal hygiene
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in line with infection prevention and control standards
- Assist nursing staff with clinical and non-clinical tasks as directed
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the wider care team
- Adhere to HSE policies, procedures, and statutory requirements at all times
- Participate in training, mandatory education, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the Job Specification for the Multi-Task Attendant grade (Grade Code 6015). Full details are available in the Job Specification document linked within the Rezoomo application.
Salary
€36,651 – €45,939 per annum (HSE Multi-Task Attendant scale, 9-point scale, effective 1 June 2026). Pay is pro-rata for part-time hours.

These positions are based across six Integrated Healthcare facilities in County Kerry, HSE South West:
- Killarney Community Nursing Unit
- Kenmare Community Nursing Unit
- Cahersiveen Community Hospital
- Tralee Community Nursing Unit
- Listowel Community Hospital
- West Kerry Community Hospital
These facilities form part of the Integrated Healthcare Area Kerry network, delivering residential and community-based care to older persons throughout the county.
