Position Overview

We are now recruiting for a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (rANP) to join the Sligo Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team with a specialised focus on Eating Disorders. This is a vital role supporting young people aged 0–18 with moderate to severe mental health needs.


Key Details

  • Post Location: CHO1 – Sligo CAMHS
  • Vacancy Type: 1 Permanent Whole-Time Post
  • Panel Formation: This campaign may form a panel for future vacancies (permanent or specified duration, full-time or part-time).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred, evidence-based care to young people diagnosed with eating disorders.
  • Undertake mental health assessments, care planning, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage a clinical caseload and establish care pathways in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate follow-ups and referrals between primary, secondary, and hospital services.
  • Work closely with the National Clinical Programme for Eating Disorders.
  • Support service development, training delivery, and monitoring of care model implementation.

About the Service – CAMHS

CAMHS in CHO1 operates three community-based mental health teams, covering Sligo, Leitrim, and South Donegal. Each team is multi-disciplinary and may include:

  • Consultant Psychiatrists
  • Clinical Nurse Specialists & Advanced Nurse Practitioners
  • Clinical Psychologists
  • Social Workers
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech & Language Therapists
  • Dietitians and Admin Staff

Services support young individuals with mood disorders, eating disorders, psychosis, ADHD, and anxiety disorders.
