HSE Dublin and North East is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead our Paediatrics department in Cavan. This permanent part-time management role offers the opportunity to advance pediatric nursing care while developing your leadership skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to oversee pediatric nursing operations in our Cavan facility. This management position requires strong leadership capabilities combined with specialized pediatric nursing expertise. You will be responsible for staff management, roster coordination, and ensuring the highest standards of pediatric patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage pediatric nursing teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Develop and manage staff rosters to ensure optimal coverage for pediatric services
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the pediatric department, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive pediatric patient care
- Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives specific to pediatric nursing practice
- Ensure all staff maintain current mandatory training requirements and pediatric competencies
- Participate in on-call management duties as required to support 24/7 pediatric services
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse qualification with current NMBI registration
- Minimum 5+ years of pediatric nursing experience with demonstrated clinical expertise
- Management qualification or formal management training program completion
- Current resuscitation certification (PILS/BLS or equivalent)
- Current anaphylaxis management training and certification
- Full, clean driving license and access to reliable transport for role requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Nursing or Healthcare Management
- Previous nursing management or supervisory experience in pediatric settings
- Additional pediatric specialty certifications (neonatal, PICU, pediatric emergency care)
- Experience with roster management systems and workforce planning
