Bantry General Hospital is inviting applications for the position of Porter. Role Overview
As a Porter, you will play an essential role in the day-to-day operation of Bantry General Hospital by providing support services across clinical and non-clinical departments. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and efficient hospital environment while delivering a professional and courteous service to patients, visitors and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely throughout the hospital.
- Move medical equipment, supplies and hospital materials as required.
- Support wards, departments and clinical teams with porter services.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient hospital environment.
- Follow all HSE health, safety and infection prevention procedures.
- Provide a courteous and professional service to patients, visitors and colleagues.

Salary
€36,407 – €44,087 per annum (HSE Porter Grade 4197 salary scale, 9-point scale, plus LSIs where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
Location
This position is based at Bantry General Hospital, Bantry, County Cork, within HSE South West. The successful candidate will support the delivery of healthcare services in a busy acute hospital serving the local community.
