About the Role
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is seeking a Professionally Qualified Social Worker to join its Adults and Safeguarding Social Work Department in Glanmire, Co. Cork. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team committed to promoting dignity, rights, and wellbeing for adults who require safeguarding and social support.
Working within a Section 38 Organisation, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver a high standard of social work intervention, advocacy, and protection services for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex support needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional social work services in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
- Undertake assessments, care planning, and case management for adults within the safeguarding remit.
- Support individuals and families in navigating complex care, protection, and capacity matters.
- Participate in multidisciplinary reviews and contribute to the development of safeguarding frameworks.
- Prepare high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders, including legal and statutory submissions.
- Ensure compliance with policy, governance, and confidentiality standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Professional Qualification in Social Work (NQSW or equivalent) recognised by CORU.
- CORU registration as a Social Worker.
- Demonstrated experience working in adult safeguarding, disability, or community-based social work.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act and Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons Policy.
Desirable
- Experience in a Section 38 or similar public-funded service.
- Familiarity with HSE safeguarding structures and multidisciplinary working.
- Post-qualification training in protection or capacity assessment.
