About the Role
This Project Officer Grade VII Cardiology Galway position is a specified purpose wholetime role based at Galway University Hospital. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment where your project management expertise will drive improvements in cardiology services across the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex cardiology service improvement projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams including cardiologists, nurses, and administrative staff
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic healthcare environment
- Collate, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data to inform strategic decisions
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement across multiple departments and external partners
- Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and performance metrics
- Support change management initiatives within cardiology services
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience working in multi-disciplinary environments with change management projects
- Proven track record of managing data collection, analysis, and reporting processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities under pressure
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders to achieve measurable results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare sector experience, particularly in cardiac or clinical services
- Formal project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Experience with HSE systems and processes
- Knowledge of healthcare quality and safety frameworks
- Third level qualification in business, healthcare management, or related field
