Radiographer, Clinical Specialist – Primary Care Radiology – Bray | HSE Dublin South East

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a dedicated Radiographer, Clinical Specialist (Grade Code: 3131) to join the Radiology Department at Bray Primary Care Centre, Co. Wicklow. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and enhance imaging services within a dynamic, patient-focused team.

About the Role

Based in Bray Primary Care Centre, this permanent, whole-time position plays a key role in delivering advanced diagnostic imaging and supporting multidisciplinary care across the Primary Care and Community Radiology Services in the HSE Dublin and South East region. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and ensure the highest standards of radiographic practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage imaging services within the primary care setting.
  • Perform and supervise advanced radiographic procedures using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and HSE protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize patient pathways and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Provide mentoring, education, and professional development for junior radiographers.
  • Participate in service audits, quality improvement, and equipment calibration.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of imaging policies and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • CORU registration as a Radiographer.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in diagnostic imaging.
  • Proven experience in a specialist clinical area (e.g., musculoskeletal, MRI, or CT).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialist area.
  • Experience within Primary Care or Community Radiology settings.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and quality assurance participation.
