Join HSE Dublin and North East as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) in Diabetes. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to lead diabetes care delivery across Cavan and Monaghan, supporting innovation in chronic disease management within community and primary care services.
About the Role
The RANP (Diabetes) will provide expert, person-centred care, combining advanced clinical practice with leadership, research, and education. Working autonomously within multidisciplinary teams, the postholder will enhance patient outcomes and support integrated diabetes care across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert clinical care and management for patients with diabetes.
- Lead and coordinate community diabetes care pathways.
- Provide advanced clinical assessments, diagnostics, and evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with GPs, consultants, and allied health professionals.
- Contribute to clinical audit, service evaluation, and quality improvement.
- Act as a clinical leader and mentor within the diabetes specialty.
- Engage in education, training, and professional development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) with NMBI.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in diabetes care.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) relevant to nursing practice.
- Active clinical experience within diabetes management or endocrinology.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in diabetes or related chronic disease management.
- Experience in community/primary care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Research and audit experience.

- Salary: €71,408 – €88,123 per annum (as per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, 1 August 2025)
