The HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) – Diabetes to join its Primary Care and Community Services team in Cavan Monaghan. This is a permanent, whole-time post offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on diabetes care within community healthcare settings.
About the Role
As a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) specialising in Diabetes, you will lead on patient-centred diabetes management, integrating evidence-based practice across community and primary care. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance chronic disease management and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with diabetes.
- Lead service innovation and quality improvement initiatives within primary care.
- Educate and support patients and families on diabetes prevention and self-management.
- Collaborate with GPs, endocrinologists, and allied health professionals to coordinate care.
- Contribute to audit, research, and policy development in diabetes services.
- Mentor and support nursing colleagues and students in specialist diabetes care.
- Ensure adherence to HSE clinical governance and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Division of the NMBI Register.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in diabetes care.
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification relevant to advanced nursing practice.
- Evidence of autonomous clinical decision-making and leadership in a specialist area.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Management or Endocrinology.
- Experience in community or primary care settings.
- Proven ability in service development and multidisciplinary collaboration.
