About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Newcastle West, Limerick. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychological assessment, intervention, and support services within our Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) and adult services framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders
  • Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs and circumstances
  • Provide clinical supervision and professional guidance to junior psychology staff and multidisciplinary team members
  • Lead psychological consultation services for complex cases requiring specialized clinical psychology expertise
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care delivery and optimal outcomes
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects within clinical psychology services
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in case review meetings and care planning processes

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent professional qualification recognized by the Psychological Society of Ireland
  • Full registration with PSI (Psychological Society of Ireland) and eligibility for CORU registration
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in clinical psychology, preferably in intellectual disability or developmental disorders
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychological assessment tools and therapeutic interventions for diverse client populations
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in health or social care settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized training in autism spectrum disorders, challenging behavior, or trauma-informed care approaches
  • Experience in clinical supervision and staff development within psychology services
  • Knowledge of disability legislation and person-centered planning frameworks
  • Additional therapeutic qualifications (CBT, systemic therapy, or similar evidence-based approaches)
