HSE Dublin and South East Region is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst for our Dublin South East operations. This permanent wholetime role offers competitive HSE Grade VIII compensation and the opportunity to drive data-driven decision making across our health services.
About the Role
As Senior Data Analyst, you’ll lead data analytics initiatives within our Dublin South East region covering Tipperary South, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, and South Dublin. You’ll transform complex health data into actionable insights while supporting strategic planning and performance improvement across our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead advanced data analytics projects across multiple health service areas
- Develop comprehensive data models and statistical analyses for healthcare performance metrics
- Collaborate with senior management teams to identify data-driven solutions for service improvement
- Manage large-scale data extraction, transformation, and analysis from HSE information systems
- Create executive-level reports and dashboards for regional healthcare planning
- Ensure data quality standards and compliance with healthcare data governance requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and support capacity building in data analytics capabilities
Essential Requirements
Education: Primary degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related analytical field
Experience: Minimum 5 years in data analytics + 3 years in senior analytical roles, preferably within healthcare or public sector
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL, R/Python, statistical analysis software, data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
Healthcare Knowledge: Understanding of HSE operations, healthcare performance indicators, and public health data systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or Business Analytics
- Healthcare analytics experience within Irish health system
- Project management certification or demonstrated leadership experience
- Advanced statistical modeling expertise including machine learning applications
- Experience with healthcare databases such as HIPE, NHIS, or similar clinical data systems
