The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Senior Medical Social Worker (Grade Code 3019) to join the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT 8, Chamber House, Dublin South West, and St Columba’s CDNT 3, Crumlin, Dublin 12).
This permanent, whole-time role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting children with complex disabilities and their families across the Dublin Midlands region, which includes Longford, Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, and parts of Dublin South and Wicklow.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior Medical Social Worker will provide expert psychosocial assessment, therapeutic interventions, and family support, ensuring that children and young people with complex needs receive integrated, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist social work interventions for children with complex disability needs.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including health, education, and therapy professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide counselling and advocacy services.
- Support families in accessing statutory and community services.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.
- Contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement within the CDNT.
Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised professional qualification in Social Work and registration with CORU.
- Demonstrated experience working with children with complex disability needs.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to child and family disability services.
- Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.

- Salary Scale (from 1 August 2025): €68,971 – €80,666 per annum (PPC scale, per Department of Health Circular 6/2025)
