Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, as a Senior Pharmacist (Grade Code 3239). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality clinical care in a busy acute hospital within the Dublin and Midlands Health Region.
About the Role
As a Senior Pharmacist, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you will support medication management, clinical governance, and specialist services such as oncology and haematology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to wards and specialist units.
- Ensure safe, evidence-based use of medicines across the hospital.
- Participate in medication reconciliation, audits, and governance activities.
- Supervise and mentor basic grade pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and formulary management.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to optimise therapeutic outcomes.
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
- Depth and breadth of hospital pharmacy experience, including clinical service delivery.
- Proven competence in relevant clinical areas such as oncology, haematology, or similar acute care specialisms.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Experience with HSE systems, audit processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
