Senior Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal / Orthopaedics – Dublin | Children’s Health Ireland

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is inviting applications for a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic care. This specified purpose, whole-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality physiotherapy services for children and adolescents across Dublin South.


About the Role

As a Senior Physiotherapist, you’ll provide expert assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for paediatric patients with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver excellent outcomes and support the continued development of CHI’s physiotherapy services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and treatments for children with orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to support holistic patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior physiotherapists and students.
  • Contribute to service improvement, audit, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to CHI and HSE policies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
  • Promote best practice and patient-centred care throughout the physiotherapy service.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with CORU (Physiotherapists Registration Board).
  • Minimum three years post-qualification experience, including relevant musculoskeletal or orthopaedic work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred

  • Experience in paediatric physiotherapy or a tertiary healthcare environment.
  • Postgraduate training or professional development in musculoskeletal rehabilitation or orthopaedics.
  • Experience in clinical supervision, research, or service audit.

    Physiotherapist, Senior (Grade Code 3158) — €59,478–€69,780 per annum (plus LSIs where applicable).
