About the Role
TUSLA – Child and Family Agency is seeking a qualified Social Care Worker to join the Children’s Residential Services team at Brookville, Doon, Co. Limerick. This position plays a key role in delivering safe, supportive, and child-centred residential care within the HSE Mid West region.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work to promote the emotional, educational, and social development of children and young people in care, while ensuring the highest standards of professional practice in line with TUSLA and national care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and supervision of children and young people in residential care.
- Develop and maintain individual care plans that address the needs and goals of each child.
- Support children in building resilience, developing independence, and maintaining family and community links.
- Work closely with social workers, therapists, and education providers to ensure holistic care delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with TUSLA and HIQA standards.
- Promote a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of care and interaction.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A recognised qualification in Social Care Work (Level 7 or higher on the NFQ).
- Eligibility for registration with CORU (Social Care Workers Register).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a care team.
Desirable
- Experience working in children’s residential or family support services.
- Additional training in trauma-informed care, behaviour management, or safeguarding.
- A full clean Irish driving licence.

Salary: in line with HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (1 August 2025) for Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029) –
