Cumas New Ross is inviting applications for Social Care Worker (SCW) roles within our Residential Disability Services in the New Ross area. This is a permanent, whole-time position open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, under Section 39 of the Health Act.

About the Role
As a Social Care Worker, you will report directly to the Person in Charge (PIC) and contribute to the day-to-day personal care, support, and empowerment of residents in a residential setting. You’ll play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion for adults with disabilities, ensuring care aligns with individual choices and needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal and social care to residents in line with individual care plans.
- Support residents in daily living activities, fostering inclusion and community participation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with HIQA standards.
- Collaborate with the PIC, multidisciplinary teams, and families to ensure optimal care outcomes.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for all residents.
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Uphold Cumas New Ross’s ethos, values, and policies.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A recognised qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or an equivalent Level 7 award.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of HIQA standards and person-centred care.
Preferred
- Full clean B driving licence.
- Experience in a residential or supported living setting.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or similar approaches.
What We Offer
- Grade 3029 – Social Care Worker salary scale (as per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales, effective 1 August 2025) ranging approximately €36,875–€52,411 per annum, with 1% uplift applied under the Public Service Agreement 2024–2026.
