The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, providing comprehensive healthcare services across the country. We are seeking an experienced Social Worker Team Leader to join our Disability Services team in Louth, offering leadership and specialized support to service users and their families.
About the Role
This permanent full-time position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team while providing direct social work services within our disability services division. You’ll demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in providing a holistic approach to advising, assessing, and empowering service users and their carers in a team leadership capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary social work team within disability services
- Provide comprehensive assessments and care planning for individuals with disabilities and their families
- Develop and implement person-centered support plans in collaboration with service users and carers
- Supervise and mentor team members, ensuring high standards of professional practice
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals, community services, and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Advocate for service users’ rights and access to appropriate services and supports
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent professional qualification
- Registration with CORU (Social Workers Registration Board)
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in social work practice
- Previous experience in disability services or related field
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Strong assessment, care planning, and case management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in disability studies, social work, or related field
- Experience working within HSE or public healthcare settings
- Knowledge of disability legislation and policy framework
- Previous supervisory or management experience in social care settings
