Staff Grade Medical Scientist

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin and Midlands is seeking a Staff Grade Medical Scientist (Haematology) to join its laboratory team in Naas, Co. Kildare. This permanent wholetime opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, including 2026 Medical Scientist graduates.

This role offers the chance to contribute to high-quality diagnostic laboratory services within a dynamic and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialised haematology laboratory investigations in accordance with established protocols.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analysers.
Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and documented.
Participate in internal and external quality assurance programmes.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and comply with accreditation standards.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (CORU) as a Medical Scientist.
Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in a Haematology Laboratory relevant to the role.
2026 Medical Scientist graduates are eligible to apply.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
