A Staff Nurse vacancy in Addiction Services has arisen with HSE Dublin and North East, covering the Integrated Health Areas of Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered general nurse to build specialist experience in addiction and substance use services, working within a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

About the Role

As a Staff Nurse in Addiction Services, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals experiencing addiction and substance use disorders. Working within the HSE Dublin and North East region, you will be part of an integrated team delivering community-based and clinical addiction services across Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care to individuals with addiction and substance use needs.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with HSE protocols and nursing standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with professional and organisational requirements.
  • Support and promote service users’ health, wellbeing, and recovery throughout their care journey.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of addiction services within the region.
  • Uphold the values and standards of An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (NMBI).

Requirements

  • Be registered in the General division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by NMBI (or be entitled to be so registered).
  • Have the clinical and professional knowledge required to fulfil the role.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to person-centred care and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland and meet the HSE’s standards for fitness to practise.

Salary

€38,166 – €54,956 per annum (HSE Staff Nurse – General scale, 13-point scale). A Long Service Increment (LSI) of €56,592 applies upon qualification. Pay is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. The Permanent Part-time post will be paid on a pro-rata basis in line with contracted hours.

Location

These posts are based within the Integrated Health Areas of Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West, under the HSE Dublin and North East region. Addiction Services in this area operate across a network of community and clinical sites serving populations across north Dublin city and county. Specific base locations will be confirmed at the time of appointment.
