Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West as a Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at University Hospital Limerick (UHL). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified nurse to develop expertise in interventional cardiology within a leading acute hospital environment.
About the Role
As a Staff Nurse (Grade 2135) in the Cath Lab, you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary cardiac team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures. This is a permanent wholetime position based in Limerick.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care within the cardiac catheterisation laboratory.
- Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures under aseptic conditions.
- Monitor and assess patients pre-, peri- and post-procedure.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, radiographers, and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate records in line with HSE and NMBI standards.
- Contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
- Participate in continuing professional development and training.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Eligible applicants must meet professional registration requirements at the time of application.
- Demonstrated competence and commitment to patient-centred care.
Desirable
- Previous experience in cardiology, critical care, or theatre nursing.
- Evidence of participation in relevant postgraduate education or training.
What We Offer
- Salary Scale (as of 1 August 2025, per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales):
