Cali Centres, a Section 39 organisation providing community-based disability services, is recruiting a Staff Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team based in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow. This is a permanent, wholetime position supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve the best possible health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will act as a clinical resource across the organisation, leading on medication management, healthcare policies and procedures, staff awareness training, clinical governance, and continuous development of safe and effective healthcare practices. The role combines nursing practice, clinical guidance, education, and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals’ health and wellbeing and deliver clinical care and health promotion
- Facilitate communication and participation in person-centred planning
- Promote community inclusion and positive health outcomes
- Lead on medication management and clinical governance across the service
- Develop and maintain healthcare policies, procedures, and safe practices
- Deliver staff awareness training and provide clinical guidance to the team
- Conduct clinical audits and contribute to continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Current NMBI registration
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or complex health needs
- Knowledge of person-centred and rights-based practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Full clean manual driving licence required
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Intellectual Disability Nursing experience is desirable
Salary
The advertised grade is Staff Nurse – General (Grade 2135). Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026, the 2135 scale runs from €38,166 to €56,592 per annum (13-point scale, plus Long Service Increments). However, Cali Centres is a Section 39 organisation and is not bound by HSE pay scales. The actual salary offered may differ — candidates should confirm remuneration directly with the employer.
