Key Responsibilities for Staff Nurse Elder Care Sligo Role
As a Staff Nurse Elder Care Sligo professional, you will:
- Deliver the highest standard of professional nursing care to elderly residents in our Sligo facility
- Develop and maintain individualized Care Plans in conjunction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with An Bord Altranais regulations and legislative requirements
- Conduct regular resident assessments and document care needs according to HIQA Standards
- Actively promote independence opportunities for residents regardless of age or dependency level
- Provide clear and comprehensive handover reports to team members at shift changes
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and maintain excellent communication with residents and families
Essential Requirements for Staff Nurse Elder Care Sligo Position
Mandatory Qualifications
- Registration in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais (or eligible for registration)
- Minimum 1 year post-registration experience, preferably in elder care or care of older persons
- Evidence of continuing professional development at appropriate level
- Satisfactory Garda Vetting clearance
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in residential care, dementia care, or palliative care settings
