About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Emergency Medicine team in Sligo. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with emergency medical conditions
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions in fast-paced emergency department settings
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HSE standards
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and implement appropriate nursing interventions
- Support patient and family education regarding emergency care procedures and discharge planning
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Degree in General Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Fluent English language skills (written and verbal communication)
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in emergency medicine or acute care settings
- Post-registration training in emergency nursing or critical care
- Advanced life support certification (ALS/ACLS)
- Experience working within the Irish healthcare system
- Additional language skills relevant to local community needs
