The HSE Dublin and Midlands region is seeking Staff Nurses (Intellectual Disability) to provide person-centred care across services in Longford and the wider DML area.
About the Role
This is a permanent, wholetime nursing position within the Intellectual Disability Services. As a Staff Nurse, you will deliver high-quality clinical and personal care to service users, supporting their health, independence, and quality of life. You’ll work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of nursing management.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Support service users in achieving their personal goals and maximising independence.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and community supports.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and nursing ethics.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote best practice in care delivery.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered in the Intellectual Disability Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
- Demonstrated competence in delivering care to persons with intellectual disabilities.
Desirable
- Experience working in community, residential, or day service settings.
- Knowledge of HSE systems, HIQA regulations, and person-centred planning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
