About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our innovative Surgical Hub team in Dublin North. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge surgical environment, providing high-quality perioperative care to patients across a range of surgical specialties. You’ll be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to delivering excellence in surgical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the Surgical Hub environment
- Collaborate with surgical teams including surgeons, anesthetists, and theater staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans for surgical patients
- Monitor patient vital signs and surgical recovery throughout the perioperative period
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with HSE clinical governance standards
- Support patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care requirements
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and surgical safety standards within the hub
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 1-2 years post-qualification experience as a Staff Nurse, preferably in surgical or acute care settings
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective patient and team collaboration
- Knowledge of perioperative care principles and surgical safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in surgical hubs or perioperative care environments
- Post-registration qualification in surgical nursing or related specialty
- Experience with electronic patient records and HSE clinical systems
- Additional training in surgical specialties (orthopedic, general surgery, etc.)
