About the Role
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland provides person-centred services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families across the country. We are currently seeking a Support Worker (Care Assistant, Grade 6482) to join our dedicated team in Shannon, Co. Clare.
This is a permanent part-time position within our Disability Services, supporting individuals to achieve greater independence and inclusion in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal and practical care to people with intellectual disabilities.
- Support service users in daily living skills, personal development, and social inclusion.
- Encourage participation in community and recreational activities.
- Promote dignity, choice, and respect in all interactions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to implement individual support plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Adhere to health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A recognised QQI Level 5 qualification (or higher) in Health Care Support, Social Care, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience working in a community-based or residential setting.
- Knowledge of HSE and HIQA standards.
