Support Worker – Disability Services – Stillorgan | Autism Initiatives Ireland

Autism Initiatives Ireland Company Limited by Guarantee is a leading provider of person-centred support services for individuals with autism and complex needs across Dublin and the South East. We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our disability services team in Stillorgan. This is a permanent part-time position offering flexible working arrangements with a minimum of 24 hours per month.

About the Role

As a Support Worker in our disability services team, you will provide person-centred care and support to individuals with autism and complex developmental needs in Stillorgan. You’ll work as part of our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, individualized support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. This role reports to the Service Manager and offers excellent opportunities for professional development in the disability services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support according to individual Person Centred Plans (PCPs) and care plans for service users with autism and complex needs
  • Act as a Key Worker for designated service users, coordinating their support and advocacy needs within the disability services framework
  • Develop and implement programme planning activities that promote independence, social inclusion, and skill development
  • Provide direct support for daily living activities, community access, and therapeutic interventions as outlined in care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with HSE standards and disability services regulations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and healthcare professionals
  • Support service users to access community resources, social activities, and meaningful engagement opportunities

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • QQI Level 5 Health Care Qualification (e.g. health, community, or care sector specialization)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in disability services, healthcare, or related support work
  • Full, clean manual driving licence (essential for community support duties)
  • Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Key Worker/Support Worker role and person-centred care philosophy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or complex developmental needs
  • Knowledge of disability legislation, HSE standards, and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience with Person Centred Planning (PCP) development and implementation
  • Additional training in autism support, behaviour management, or therapeutic interventions
