Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is a leading disability services provider committed to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives. We’re seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Ennis, serving the Tipperary North, Limerick, and Clare regions in a permanent part-time capacity.

About the Role

As a Support Worker with Brothers of Charity Services, you’ll provide person-centered care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain independence in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care and support to service users in accordance with their individual support plans
  • Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Support individuals in developing independent living skills and achieving personal goals
  • Implement behavioral support strategies and maintain detailed care records
  • Facilitate community integration activities and social opportunities for service users
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and family members
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and organizational policies

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Disability Studies, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Full clean driving license and access to own vehicle
  • Garda vetting clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential or day services settings
  • Training in Manual Handling and Medication Administration
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning approaches
  • Experience with challenging behavior support strategies
