We’re seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Ennis, serving the Tipperary North, Limerick, and Clare regions in a permanent part-time capacity.
About the Role
As a Support Worker with Brothers of Charity Services, you’ll provide person-centered care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain independence in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and support to service users in accordance with their individual support plans
- Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills and achieving personal goals
- Implement behavioral support strategies and maintain detailed care records
- Facilitate community integration activities and social opportunities for service users
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and family members
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and organizational policies
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Disability Studies, or related field
- Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Full clean driving license and access to own vehicle
- Garda vetting clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential or day services settings
- Training in Manual Handling and Medication Administration
- Knowledge of person-centered planning approaches
- Experience with challenging behavior support strategies
