Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is a leading provider of support services for people with intellectual disabilities across Ireland. We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our dedicated team in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, working within our specialized intellectual disability services.
About the Role
This permanent, full-time Team Leader position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities in our Strokestown location. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest quality of person-centered care within our residential and community-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team providing direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with service users, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, organizational policies, and best practice guidelines in intellectual disability services
- Coordinate daily activities, therapeutic interventions, and community integration programs for service users
- Manage staff schedules, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and professional development
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and progress documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with families, external professionals, and community partners to enhance service delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Intellectual Disability Studies, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working directly with people with intellectual disabilities
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in social care or intellectual disability services
- Strong understanding of person-centered planning and rights-based approaches
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory frameworks for intellectual disability services
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 8 qualification in relevant discipline
- Experience in residential or community-based intellectual disability services
- Training in behavior support, safeguarding, and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and communication aids
