About the Role
As a Theatre Endoscopy Operative at Galway University Hospitals, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting endoscopic procedures and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This Grade 6013 position offers various contract options including permanent and specified purpose contracts, both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist medical staff during endoscopic procedures in the theatre environment
- Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and instruments to the highest standards
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by HSE protocols
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Adhere to infection control and health and safety procedures
- Support the setup and breakdown of theatre equipment for endoscopic procedures
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in a hospital environment relevant to the role
- Understanding of theatre protocols and endoscopy procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in endoscopy or theatre departments
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
- Healthcare-related qualifications or certifications
- Experience with medical equipment sterilization and maintenance
