About the Role

As a Theatre Endoscopy Operative at Galway University Hospitals, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting endoscopic procedures and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This Grade 6013 position offers various contract options including permanent and specified purpose contracts, both part-time and full-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist medical staff during endoscopic procedures in the theatre environment
  • Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and instruments to the highest standards
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by HSE protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Adhere to infection control and health and safety procedures
  • Support the setup and breakdown of theatre equipment for endoscopic procedures

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in a hospital environment relevant to the role
  • Understanding of theatre protocols and endoscopy procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in endoscopy or theatre departments
  • Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
  • Healthcare-related qualifications or certifications
  • Experience with medical equipment sterilization and maintenance
