We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to join our Emergency Department team in a permanent full-time management role with competitive compensation of €60,854 – €76,897.
About the Role
This Clinical Nurse Manager 2 position offers a dynamic opportunity to lead emergency healthcare delivery in one of Ireland’s premier teaching hospitals. You’ll oversee clinical operations, staff development, and patient care standards while advancing specialist nursing practice in our busy Emergency Department. The role combines strategic management responsibilities with hands-on clinical leadership and educational mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing teams in the Emergency Department to deliver exceptional patient-focused care
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive care for patients and families in emergency and trauma settings
- Develop and implement specialist and advanced nursing practice protocols and procedures
- Supervise clinical staff and coordinate professional development programs for nursing teams
- Apply leadership and management skills to maintain and improve quality standards across all patient care areas
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety standards
- Mentor and educate nursing staff while promoting continuous learning and evidence-based practice
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- NMBI Registration – Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Emergency Department Experience – Proven clinical experience in emergency or acute care settings
- Clinical Leadership Experience – Demonstrated management or supervisory experience in healthcare
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field
- Advanced life support certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Quality improvement experience in emergency department settings
- Teaching or mentoring experience with nursing staff
