HSE Dublin and South East is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Registrar to join our dynamic team at Wexford General Hospital. This is a specified purpose wholetime position offering excellent professional development opportunities within Ireland’s national health service.
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified Emergency Medicine Registrar to provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients at Wexford General Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team while developing expertise in emergency medicine practice in a busy Irish Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical assessment and treatment for patients across all age groups
- Work collaboratively with emergency department consultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in emergency department teaching and training programs
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HSE protocols
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and audit activities
- Provide emergency medical care during on-call shifts as rostered
- Contribute to emergency department service development and best practice implementation
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Medicine from a recognized institution
- Full IMC (Irish Medical Council) Registration held at application date
- IELTS/OET English language certification (for non-native English speakers)
- Previous Irish or UK Emergency Department Registrar experience only
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced life support certifications (ALS, PALS, ATLS)
- Previous experience in Irish healthcare system
- Emergency medicine training pathway progression
- Research or audit experience in emergency medicine
