About the Role
As a Hospital Physiotherapist at Connolly Hospital, you will provide essential rehabilitation services to patients across various medical and surgical specialties. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support patients in their recovery journey, helping them achieve optimal functional outcomes. This Grade 314X position reports to the Physiotherapist Manager-In-Charge and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for patients across medical, surgical, and specialty units
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and conditions
- Provide hands-on physiotherapy interventions including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and mobility training
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HSE standards and professional guidelines
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families regarding home exercise programs
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in continuing professional development activities
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Current registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy, preferably in an acute hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory physiotherapy techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in acute hospital physiotherapy across multiple specialties
- Additional training in specialized areas such as respiratory care, stroke rehabilitation, or orthopedic physiotherapy
- Knowledge of HSE systems and procedures
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
