About the Role
Join our expert urology team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate, where you’ll deliver specialized nursing care to patients with urological conditions. You’ll work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team at Cork University Hospital, contributing to evidence-based practice and advancing urological nursing standards across the Munster region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with complex urological conditions including pre and post-operative care
- Develop and implement evidence-based care protocols specific to urology patient populations
- Collaborate with urological consultants, surgical teams, and allied health professionals in patient care planning
- Mentor and support nursing staff in urological nursing practices and procedures
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives within the urology department
- Contribute to patient and family education regarding urological conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 3 years post-registration nursing experience with demonstrated interest in urology
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in surgical nursing, particularly urology or related specialties
- Additional qualifications in urological nursing or specialist care
- Experience in clinical education or mentoring roles
- Knowledge of current evidence-based practices in urological nursing care
