The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, delivering healthcare services to the Irish population. We’re seeking a dynamic Technology and Business Operations Lead to join our ICT Information Services team at Galway University Hospital, part of the Saolta University Health Care Group.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced technology professional to lead business operations within our ICT Information Services department. This Grade VI permanent wholetime position offers the opportunity to drive IT service delivery in one of Ireland’s leading healthcare organizations, supporting critical healthcare technology infrastructure across the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage technology business operations within the ICT Information Services department
- Oversee IT service delivery across the healthcare organization, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Manage and develop team members, providing leadership and guidance in a dynamic healthcare technology environment
- Coordinate technology projects and initiatives to support clinical and administrative operations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to understand technology requirements and deliver effective IT solutions
- Monitor and report on technology performance metrics and service level agreements
- Ensure compliance with healthcare IT security standards and data protection requirements
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering IT services in a large organization
- Proven experience as a team leader or in a staff management role
- Strong understanding of technology business operations and service delivery
- Experience working in complex organizational environments
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare technology experience
- ITIL or similar service management framework knowledge
- Project management experience
- Experience with healthcare information systems
- Relevant third-level qualification in IT, Business, or related field

This is a permanent wholetime position based at Galway University Hospital, serving the HSE West and North West region covering Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway.
