About the Role
This permanent full-time Staff Nurse position in our High Dependency Unit requires a skilled nursing professional to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, specialized environment. You’ll work alongside our multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional standards within our established model of nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to an assigned group of HDU patients within established clinical frameworks
- Manage a designated caseload of high-dependency patients requiring specialized monitoring and intervention
- Actively participate as a multidisciplinary team member in all aspects of HDU service delivery including clinical meetings
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual person-centered care programs for critically ill patients
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to facilitate discharge planning and continuity of care
- Provide appropriate education and information to patients and families while acting as their advocate
- Maintain accurate written nursing records and reports in accordance with professional guidelines
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Nursing Degree qualification
- Current registration as a General Nurse with the NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered General Nurse
- Fluent English communication skills
- Knowledge of NMBI directives including code of conduct and scope of practice framework
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Critical Care or High Dependency nursing
- Experience in HDU, ICU, or other critical care environments
- Knowledge of Mater Hospital specialties and procedures
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development
