The Health Service Executive (HSE), Ireland’s national health service, is seeking a dedicated Radiography Assistant to join our Medical Imaging team across St Columcilles Hospital and Bray Primary Care Centre in Dublin South. About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Radiography Assistant to support our Medical Imaging department in delivering high-quality diagnostic services. You’ll work alongside experienced radiographers and healthcare professionals, assisting with patient care and ensuring smooth operation of imaging services across two key healthcare facilities in the Dublin South region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist radiographers with patient positioning and preparation for various imaging procedures including X-rays, CT scans, and other diagnostic imaging
- Provide compassionate patient care and support, ensuring comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Maintain and prepare imaging equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards
- Support infection control protocols and maintain sterile environments in imaging departments
- Assist with patient transportation and mobility needs within the imaging department
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with HSE guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare support role or medical imaging environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and equipment handling
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HSE policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospital or primary care environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
- Understanding of radiation safety principles
- Customer service experience in healthcare setting
