About the Role
This Senior Dietitian Paediatric Diabetes Mullingar position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in pediatric healthcare. Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive dietetic assessments and care planning for children with diabetes
- Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition intervention strategies for paediatric diabetes management
- Provide expert clinical guidance and mentorship to junior dietetic staff
- Collaborate with endocrinologists, diabetes nurses, and psychologists in multidisciplinary care
- Conduct behavioral change training sessions for patients and families
- Drive quality improvement initiatives in paediatric diabetes nutrition services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Professional qualification in Dietetics recognized by CORU
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in clinical dietetics
- Specialized experience in paediatric diabetes nutrition management
- Demonstrated expertise in behavioral change training methodologies
- Strong understanding of childhood diabetes pathophysiology and nutrition therapy
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, families, and healthcare teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in paediatric nutrition or diabetes management
- Experience with quality improvement projects in healthcare settings
- Knowledge of current Irish diabetes clinical guidelines and protocols
- Previous experience in multidisciplinary team environments
