Join our specialist cancer care team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Gynae Oncology Galway at Galway University Hospitals. This permanent wholetime position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in women’s cancer care and survivorship support.

About the Role

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Gynae Oncology Galway, you will provide expert clinical leadership in the Cancer Managed and Clinical Academic Network. This Advanced Nurse Practitioner candidate position focuses on delivering comprehensive care to women with gynecological cancers while supporting survivors throughout their journey.

Salary Range: €70,025 – €79,081 (HSE Grade 2272 – 6 incremental points) Reference: G10673 Location: Galway University Hospitals, Galway Contract: Permanent Wholetime

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment and management for gynae oncology patients
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care pathways for cancer survivorship
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Cancer Managed Clinical Network
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives in gynae oncology services
  • Support and mentor nursing staff in specialized cancer care practices
  • Participate in clinical research and audit activities
  • Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the cancer journey

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Demonstration of depth and breadth of post-registration experience in Gynae Oncology
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or working towards qualification
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in oncology nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered nurse prescriber qualification (or commitment to undertake within agreed timeframe)
  • Nurse Prescribing of Ionising Radiation Certificate (or commitment to undertake within agreed timeframe)
  • Experience in cancer survivorship care
  • Postgraduate qualification in oncology or related field
  • Previous experience in Advanced Nurse Practitioner role
  • Research experience in gynae oncology
