About the Role
We are recruiting Registrar positions across six critical medical specialties at University Hospital Kerry. These wholetime positions offer excellent opportunities for career progression within the HSE healthcare system, providing comprehensive training and development in specialized medical departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and clinical management within assigned specialty department
- Participate in emergency call rotas and on-call duties as required by specialty
- Collaborate with consultant teams and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate medical records and participate in clinical audits
- Contribute to teaching and training of junior medical staff and students
- Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical governance standards
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Primary medical qualification recognized by the Medical Council of Ireland
- Basic Specialist Training (BST) relevant to the specific specialty area
- Full registration with the Medical Council of Ireland
- Minimum 2-3 years postgraduate medical experience
- Relevant specialty-specific training and certifications
- Excellent clinical skills and decision-making abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Additional specialty-specific qualifications and training
- Experience in Irish healthcare system or similar environment
- Research experience and publications in relevant medical fields
- Leadership and teaching experience with junior medical staff

- Emergency Medicine – Acute care and emergency department
- General Medicine – Internal medicine and acute medical care
- Obstetrics/Gynaecology – Women’s health and maternity services

- Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery – Surgical intervention and rehabilitation
