HSE Dublin and North East is seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager II to join our Mental Health Services team in Cavan Monaghan. About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager II for Mental Health Services, you will provide clinical leadership and management oversight within our specialized mental health unit in Cavan Monaghan. This senior nursing position involves direct management responsibilities, clinical supervision, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered mental health care services. You will report to the Acting Director of Nursing, Mental Health Services, and play a crucial role in maintaining clinical standards and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff within the mental health services unit
- Manage day-to-day operations ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate mental health care delivery
- Coordinate patient care plans and liaise with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers
- Ensure compliance with mental health legislation, HSE policies, and clinical governance standards
- Conduct staff performance reviews, provide mentorship, and support professional development initiatives
- Manage resources, staffing schedules, and budget allocation for the mental health services area
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audit processes specific to mental health care
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) with current PIN
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in mental health nursing
- Previous management or supervisory experience in healthcare setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of mental health legislation and clinical practices
- Evidence of continuing professional development in mental health nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing or healthcare management
- Experience in community mental health services delivery
- Leadership or management training certification
- Advanced skills in mental health assessment and intervention techniques
