About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Acute Assessment Unit Virtual Ward at Sligo University Hospital. This role involves delivering high-level clinical assessment and care management for patients in our virtual ward environment, working as part of our multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients within the Acute Assessment Unit Virtual Ward environment
- Develop and implement evidence-based care plans for patients requiring acute assessment and monitoring
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff within the virtual ward setting
- Utilize advanced clinical skills to manage complex patient presentations and coordinate care pathways
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance virtual ward operations and patient care delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing with registration on the NMBI register
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or working towards qualification as a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in acute healthcare settings
- Experience in acute assessment and emergency care environments
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills relevant to acute patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in virtual ward or remote monitoring healthcare delivery models
- Post-graduate qualifications in relevant clinical specialties
- Leadership or mentorship experience in nursing practice
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures for acute care delivery
