MedLIS Project Manager – ICT – Navan | Our Lady’s Hospital

About the Role

The MedLIS Project Manager will lead the implementation and management of our Medical Laboratory Information System (MedLIS) project, ensuring seamless integration with existing hospital systems. You’ll report to the Hospital Manager and work closely with clinical teams, ICT specialists, and external vendors to deliver this critical healthcare technology project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage all aspects of the MedLIS implementation from planning to go-live and post-implementation support
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clinical staff, laboratory teams, ICT departments, and external vendors to ensure project success
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of MedLIS with existing hospital information systems and ensure data integrity
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining project timelines and budgets
  • Training Coordination: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for end-users across all hospital departments
  • Documentation Management: Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, procedures, and user guides
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all system implementations meet healthcare regulatory requirements and clinical safety standards

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Education: Primary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare ICT environments
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of database management, system integration, and healthcare information systems
  • Project Management: Proven experience with project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification preferred)
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with clinical and technical staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or similar healthcare technology
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, DICOM, LOINC)
  • Previous experience working within the Irish health service or HSE environment
  • Additional project management certifications or healthcare informatics qualifications
