HSE West and North West is seeking dedicated Multi Task Attendants to join our healthcare teams across multiple facilities in Galway. These permanent wholetime positions offer the opportunity to provide essential support services in community nursing units and district hospitals, making a real difference in the lives of patients and residents.

About the Role

We have several permanent wholetime vacancies for Multi Task Attendants across four key healthcare facilities: Áras Rónáin CNU, Áras Mhic Dara CNU, Clifden District Hospital, and St Anne’s CNU. You’ll be working as part of multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and support services in these vital community healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care and assistance to patients and residents in various healthcare settings
  • Support daily living activities including mobility assistance, meal preparation, and personal hygiene care
  • Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable environments for patients through housekeeping and maintenance duties
  • Assist nursing and healthcare staff with routine patient care tasks and administrative duties
  • Transport patients within facilities and accompany them to appointments when required
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition or facility maintenance needs to appropriate staff
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, infection control procedures, and HSE policies

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, residential, community, or nursing home)
  • Experience providing direct care to service users in any healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks safely
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts and healthcare settings as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal healthcare or care assistant training or certification
  • Knowledge of manual handling techniques and health and safety procedures
  • Experience working in community nursing units or district hospitals
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection requirements
