About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our healthcare team across two vital facilities in Cork. This position involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients in both community hospital and residential care environments, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in community hospital and residential care settings
- Conduct regular ward rounds and patient consultations across both facilities
- Collaborate with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and management teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with HSE standards and medical best practices
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individualized care plans
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide urgent care as required within the scope of community hospital services
- Support the implementation of clinical governance standards and quality improvement initiatives across both facilities
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Primary medical qualification recognized by the Medical Council of Ireland
- Full registration with the Medical Council of Ireland
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in hospital or community healthcare settings
- Experience in care of the elderly, general medicine, or community healthcare preferred
- Current CPR certification and emergency care training
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in General Practice, Geriatric Medicine, or related specialty
- Previous experience working in community hospital or residential care environments
- Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and clinical governance frameworks
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary collaboration
