Join the Health Service Executive (HSE Dublin and Midlands) as a Consultant Cardiologist and General Physician (GENM3285). This is a permanent, wholetime consultant opportunity shared between Naas General Hospital (33 hours) and Tallaght University Hospital (4 hours), serving the Dublin South, Kildare, and Midlands region.
About the Role
This consultant post combines specialist cardiology expertise with general internal medicine responsibilities across two major hospitals. The role is key to improving patient outcomes through innovative cardiac care, diagnostics, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist cardiology and general medical care to inpatients and outpatients.
- Lead diagnostic and treatment plans in alignment with national clinical guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor NCHDs, interns, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in on-call duties and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and research activities.
- Support service development initiatives within the Dublin and Midlands region.
- Collaborate closely with both Naas General Hospital and Tallaght University Hospital teams to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Cardiology and General (Internal) Medicine.
- Minimum of seven years’ postgraduate experience, including five in the specialty.
- Proven experience in delivering acute cardiology and general medicine services.
Preferred
- Academic involvement or research in cardiovascular medicine.
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical service delivery and quality improvement.
